ROCKWOOD – Nominations are requested by November 28th for the first Festival of Lights award, according to Erika Schenk, Rockwood 2000 Program Manager. The first recipient will be awarded on November 30th, in time for the annual Christmas Tour of Homes in Rockwood. Awards will be made each Friday through December 28th and recipients will receive a garden plaque, tickets to the Rockwood Tour of Homes and a Rockwood 2000 cookbook.
“One award will be given each week for the best display at a private residence,” according to Schenk. "Lights, inflatables, any sort of seasonal decorations are acceptable and will be considered for the award.”
Nominations for the award can be placed online at www.rockwood2000.com or by contacting Erika Schenk at 354-6800. Rockwood 2000 was the responsible organization for obtaining the lighted star on the top of Mount Roosevelt and funding for the angels that align Gateway and Rockwood Streets during the holidays. This project supports the Rockwood 2000 goal for the beautification of Rockwood.
