FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CONTEST WINNERS ANNOUNCED

	ROCKWOOD - Visually celebrating the holiday season, Rockwood 2000 continues its program of awarding exceptional lighting displays by both businesses and residences. Four additional locations have been chosen for the Festival of Lights Awards celebrating the holiday season in Rockwood, TN. Rockwood 2000 Program Chair Erika Schenk announced the residence of Kathy and Cotton Human at 318 E. Wheeler Street, and the Shear Perfection Pet Grooming Salon were awarded the Festival of Lights placques on December 9th. "If you drive on Wheeler street after nightfall, you can't help but notice the extremely large collection of lighted figures on the sloping lawn of Kathy and Cotton Human's residence. Their decorations light up the entire street from blocks away. For the business recognition, Shear Perfection Pet Salon was an easy selection because Mrs. Martin has a very unique window display for Christmas - she has brightly lit Christmas figures as well as a Christmas tree adorned with the photos of her customers (clean dogs)," said Schenk. On December 20th, the residence of Eugene and Peggy Cozart at 407 W. Strang Street was the recipient of the Festival of Lights, while the Blossom Barn Florists at 806 N. Gateway received the award for their window display. "The Cozart's have clearly worked many hours stringing lights on every conceivable inch of their property. Photos of the residence do not depict the many smaller lighted displays just visible inside their fenced in yard. When the Blossom Barn was given the award, I learned the window displays had been completed by owners Rick Cagle and Travis Comer with the assistance of Rhonda Wolf and Paula Vaughn. Unfortunately Paula Vaughn recently passed away, so this award very appropriately honors her memory," reported Schenk. Festival of Lights Award winners are recognized by a garden plaque and receive tickets to the annual Rockwood Home Tour. These lighting displays celebrate community pride, which is an area promoted by Rockwood 2000.
