FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CONTEST BEGINS IN ROCKWOOD

Flask Residence

ROCKWOOD - The first two recipients for Rockwood's Festival of Lights contest have been awarded. The awards are sponsored by Rockwood 2000 as part of their community pride efforts.

Program Chairwoman Erika Schenk awarded the first residential award to John & Donna Flask at 210 Kingston Avenue in Rockwood. The first business award went to the City of Rockwood's Homecoming Park.

"The Lighting Contest is a wonderful way for the community to celebrate the holiday season," remarked Schenk. "The Flask house on Kingston Avenue is very decorative featuring both lights and inflatables. They absolutely light up their yard and decorate the whole house for Christmas, much to the enjoyment of all who drive past. For the business award, we here in Rockwood are very fortunate that our Homecoming Park is so well decorated. The park features a train, a carousel, and many other lights that capture your imagination. I am pleased to announce these locations are the first two winners of the Festival of Lights Award," reported Schenk.

Festival of Lights Award winners are recognized by a garden plaque and receive tickets to the annual Rockwood Home Tour. To nominate a residence or a business, please submit names and addresses through the Rockwood 2000 website at www.rockwood2000.com.
