2006 ROCKWOOD FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS CONTEST CONCLUDES

    ROCKWOOD - The successful 2006 Festival of Lights Holiday Contest has concluded, announced Rockwood 2000 Program Chair Erika Schenk. The annual contest is held to acknowledge those residences and businesses who enhance Rockwood by holiday lighting. Winners are presented with letters of appreciation, a complimentary cookbook and tickets to the 2007 Christmas Tour of Homes. This program supports civic group Rockwood 2000's goal of projects that beautify Rockwood.

    Winners in the contest were:

• First week: 303 N. Front Street - the Gibson family and 108 S. Kingston Avenue - the Hennager family      
• Second week: 102 South Kingston Avenue - the Turner family and 204 Rockwood Street - Shear Perfection Pet Salon
• Third week: 708 Tarwater Street - the McCarrol family and 712 Tarwater Street - the Robbins family and 121 N. Kingston Ave. - the Griffis Family
• Fourth week: Rockwood Fire Department and 401 S. Chamberlain Street - the Snipes family
• Fifth week: 213 N. Douglas Street - the Clark family

    "On behalf of all of us in Rockwood 2000, thanks to the winners and the many people who nominated contestants. We're looking forward to accomplishing great things in 2007," said Schenk.
