The Steven Carter House
Rockwood, Tennessee
This home was built in 1899 by teamster Steven Carter for his wife and three children. Mr. Carter moved from his brother's farm to go into business. Of special interest is the original oak staircase, railings, finials & moldings. It has nine rooms, four fireplaces and in earlier years there was an orchard and grapevines filling the large lot. It was recently purchased by Jerry & Erika Schenk. |
